Christmas ornaments cakes
So blessed to have my ball cake tin and my cake book arrived just before Christmas.
Been wanting to make these for a few months now. With so many macarons orders this year, I didn't even have the time to bake Christmas cookies to give to family and friends.
Made these on Christmas eve and hoping that it will turn out for Christmas days to give to my church friends. Unfortunately with only 3 medium balls you can make from 1 tin, i just manage to make 2 batch of the cake, ending up with only 6 ornaments. It was a trial and error to cover the cake, ending up with only 5 balls. The cake is a orange citrus cake cover in chocolate.

The Royal Crown.
Was so happy to be asked to make a year 6 graduation cake for Crydon public school.
Their theme is ROYAL. This cake was fun to make BUT it really took heaps of time.
The first crown I've made was a big fail. The outer white rimes just cracked and fall apart. So this one is the last minute at might night attempt. I guess it wasn't the way i wanted to be but at midnight it just have to be.
I wasn't happy with the draping also with this cake. Really wish i have the industrial roller to roll the fondant on to the cake. Really hope the year 6 is happy with this cake.
Everything edible except the cake board :)

Muppetize 16th birthday cake
Muppetize cake you might asked? what is muppetizing ? Well for all those people who loves muppets and sesame street this one is for you.
This cake is inspired from Lauren Kitchens of Fancy Cakes . To those who don't know her, she is a Food Network Gold Medalist. Unfortunately I never been to any of her class but wish I could. Well if she ever come down under for sure I would be the first in line to join her workshop.
This cake is made for my daughter's 16th birthday. She loves the muppets and grew up watching sesame street. This is a muppetize of her with her head high :)
This cake is made from chocolate mud cake.

Cakelet cakelet
I love to create a cake that tell a story. Made this wonderful cakelet.

My new loved cake pan
I love craft stores so much. One of the things I want to do when I go to USA is to visit Michaels Crafts store. Last month I was blessed enough to go to NYC with my family. On my list on what to do is to visit Michael's crafts store.
Just like a little kid in the candy store, I was so excited when my brother in law drove us to the shop. WOW..I can stay in that store for the whole day, sadly I didn't as I was only allow to stay in there for awhile. :( - This is what happen when you travel with kids -
Anyway, I bought my self this cool brownie pan.
This pan is so great to make a square cupcake. Made some yummy Hershey chocolate cake with this pan. Sorry..I didn't get to take a photo of the cake as it went straight to kids.

Jareth cake
I was so happy when my friend asked me to make her son's 2nd birthday cake.
I've made J first birthday cake. This time J's mum asked me to make something with a musical theme. For weeks I was thinking of something that suit a 2 year old. I've made guitar for an adults b'day so I thought it will be nice to have a little boy playing a drum.
The cake is a double choc mudcake with choc layers cover in fondant.
I really hope J like his cake. Happy birthday Jareth.

Macaron...mocarons..and more macarons
I love macarons. The first every macarons I have tasted was in Paris. The nice sweetness of the filling and the almond just made my taste buds jump up and down for more.
The adventure of macarons started last year after my trip to Paris. I start searching for the BEST every macaron recipe. I have found the recipe was nothing more then sugar and almond meal, so what is all the fuss ? I'm sure I can just whipped this and the rest was history.
Boy ..was I wrong !!! after more the 20 plus attempted and made my whole family fat !! ( from eating all the ugly and uneven macarons.) I wasn't going to surrender to the macarons.
After a long months of searching and reading many many books and blogs from fellow macarons lovers. I finely got it !! EUREKA !!! thanks to Pierre Herme and Jose Marechal I have masted his macarons.
I was going to give up, pack my bag and move to Paris ( heheh this is what I've told the hubby )
I'm sure he was so glad I didn't do it, even though Paris is still in my mind.
The adventure of the search of the macaron is over , but the beginning of our beautiful friendship has just began.
So here are some pic of my beautiful tasteful macs.

A bowl of Ramen.
As usual when it comes to my own birthday, I love to make my own cake.
Been thinking about it the whole year. I should I make this year. For the very first time my birthday cake is not made from chocolate.
I love ramen so much and like to have a bowl of ramen now and then. This cake is a carrot cake cover in vanilla icing.
Enjoy.
